Starting on January 20, the first phase of 2020 cost of living assistance (BSH) payments for household categories registered in the 2019 BSH database.
Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said in a statement on Monday (January 6) that the amount would involve an allocation of RM1 billion and would benefit nearly 3.8 million beneficiaries in this category.
"The first payment of RM300 per household per household will be directly deposited into the recipient's respective bank account using the information used by BSH 2019," he said.
He said that recipients living in rural areas without bank accounts will be paid cash from February 1.
To ensure that the BSH 2020 program benefits only deserved, truly eligible beneficiaries, Lim said appeals can be filed between February 1st and March 15th.
"After the BSH 2020 database update, those who have successfully appealed will receive payments in the second and third stages, while those in the single and disabled (OKU) category will receive one-time payments. The second stage," he said.
During the announcement of the 2020 budget, the government announced that it would continue to implement the BSH plan to reduce the burden and ensure the well-being of the people, especially the B40 group.
